  • ZEB FARMER

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Zeb is a United States Marine Corps veteran who served from 2005-2009. He had a deployment in OIF 5-7 in Fallujah, Iraq, and also had the opportunity to serve in Australia.

    Zeb has always had a love for the outdoors and new adventure. He grew up exploring the backwoods of the Northwest, spending his time camping and fishing. He has a deep passion for chasing moments of pure stoke, and seeking out thrilling and unforgettable experiences.

    Zeb has ventured deep into the Artic, traversing the legendary Dempster Highway up to Tuktoyaktuk. He has also embarked on three trips to Baja, driving the length of the peninsula and exploring the small towns and taco stands along the way. Zeb has ridden dual sport bikes through Bocas del Toro and explored Panama. He has also overlanded Australia from the Gold Coast up to Cairns.

    Zeb currently owns a 2019 Toyota Tacoma and a KTM 500, both outfitted for overland travel.

    Zeb and his wife Carmen are based in South Texas where they continue to pursue their passion for adventure and exploration.

  • CARLY MCPIKE

    HEAD OF OPERATIONS

    Meeting her husband in 2012, Carly’s admiration and respect for the veteran community grew, and with that a passion to give back. Utilizing her professional background working in Operations and as an Executive Assistant to VP and C Level executives, Carly provides support to the Executive Director, Board, and extended teams helping to drive initiatives, optimize internal operations, event execution, and plain old grunt work.

    Carly grew up backpacking around the PNW as well as overseas trips to Europe, Southeast Asia, and Baja. She now thoroughly enjoys exploring the beautiful backroads of the U.S and Baja with her family from the passenger seat of their FJ80, and letting the truck do the heavy lifting. You can easily spot her at events and camps as she will almost always have a labradoodle a few steps away.

    Carly currently resides in Seoul, South Korea with her husband and dog Murphy.

  • ADAM ROYER

    HEAD OF BRAND, DESIGN & PHOTOGRAPHY

    Adam, a native of the Pacific Northwest, has cultivated a lifelong passion for exploring the region's vast backcountry. Whether navigating in his outfitted 2016 Toyota Tacoma or backpacking with only essentials in his pack, his dedication to outdoor adventure is evident.

    With eight years of experience on a Search & Rescue team, Adam brings a strong commitment to assisting others in challenging environments. His affiliation with Veteran Overland signifies his desire to support veterans—and others—seeking to enhance their overlanding, off-roading and outdoor skills, providing valuable guidance and encouragement.

  • CHARLIE MIRKLE

    HEAD OF PRODUCT

    Charlie served as an Operations Specialist, Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5) aboard the USS Ponce LPD-15 from 1991-1995

    After military service, Charlie found his calling selling advertising and marketing solutions and now serves as Director of Sales at ABC4 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

    Charlie’s overlanding experience started in the world of Jeeps, which transitioned into a 5th Gen 4Runner, and most recently into a Power Wagon. Overlanding and adventure is what brought him and his wife, Sarah to Oregon in 2017 and then to Utah in 2023.

  • DANNY LOPEZ

    HEAD OF EXPERIENCE - BASECAMP

    The son of an Army Sergeant based on Fort Huachuca, Az, Danny gained a passion for the outdoors exploring the Huachuca Mountains.

    In the summer of 1992, he proudly represented the United States in the Barcelona Olympic Games (yes, he's an Olympian!).

    His passion for the outdoors has lead him to Overlanding and supporting Veterans and their families as a member of Veteran Overland.

  • DEAN HOWES

    BASECAMP LEAD

    Dean is a Marine Corps veteran, father of three amazing boys, and an avid outdoorsman. He served eight years and completed three deployments to Iraq and SE Asia as an infantryman and intelligence operator. Dean started a brewing company in Oregon with a focus on bringing Veterans together and was introduced to Veteran Overland while hosting a Toys for Tots toy drive. The community and mission goals of V/O were an immediate fit and he has been involved with events as a volunteer ever since.

    Dean enjoys exploring the West Coast and British Columbia with his sons, girlfriend and German Shepherd. He is non stop tinkering with his 2017 Toyota Tacoma with Mits Alloy flatbed mod and can be found at most V/O campouts telling stories late into the night.

  • JASON CARSON

    HEAD OF EXPERIENCE - OVERLAND

    Jason retired after a 20 year career in the Navy. He served as a submarine Sonarman on both fast attack and trident submarines, making eight overseas deployments around the globe.

    His love for exploration and camping started as a child with his family and continues today in the PNW with his wife, Jessi, in their 2006 Ram 2500 with a Super Pacific X1 camper.

    He is currently a senior training specialist teaching leadership skills for the DoD.

  • MICHAEL ST. CYR

    OVERLAND LEAD

    Mike is a Coast Guard Veteran, Dad, wanderer and self proclaimed vehicle nerd. It all started with a chance encounter with V/O in 2017 at the NWOR and then some years later Mike and his son Noah were lucky enough to be selected for a Vet Connect Trip. That trip was the start of what will undoubtedly be a lifelong love affair with the V/O mission, people and all they represent

    Mike and Noah spend their free time exploring the American West and places beyond whenever possible. If not outside, you can find him listening to music in the garage, wiggling around, and making a mess.

  • ALLIE SABISTON

    SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

    Allie is a combat veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from ‘14-‘17 with a deployment to Afghanistan from ‘16-‘17. While deployed Allie served as a combat medic conducting foot patrols, and lead trauma tables in the Aid Station.

    Allie was born and raised in the PNW. Her love for the outdoors started at a young age with annual camping trips to the Wenatchee National Forrest. These days she frequently goes on adventures camping out of her Lexus GX460 with her husband Sean and their 2 girls, Maddilyn and Lainey.

  • CARMEN FARMER

    LEAD OF PHYSICAL SPACES

    Growing up, Carmen had a passion for design and adventuring, which led her to a career that combines both. With retail and event project management, she has the opportunity to work on various scale projects creating memorable spaces and experiences. Allowing her to travel throughout North America to oversee these executions. Upon meeting her husband she was introduced to the remarkable community of Veteran Overland. Witnessing the impact they make on Veterans lives she began to explore ways in which she could contribute her skills and knowledge. As the lead of physical spaces she’ll be collaborating with the design and product team to curate the look and feel of how the booth is executed at events. At gatherings and excursions you’ll often find her doling out snacks and riding shotgun in her husband's 2019 Toyota Tacoma.

  • JEFF MCPIKE

    FOUNDER & PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD

    Jeff is an 8 year U.S. Army Veteran with a combat deployment to Iraq in 03-04. Jeff spent his deployment behind the HMMWV mounted .50 cal on multi-day convoy missions across the country.

    Post deployment, Jeff taught convoy operations to deploying troops. Jeff also co-founded the Veteran Support Group for a fortune 500 corporation, working to help Vets make the leap into civilian careers.

    Jeff has a wife and two children who love camping in their 1993 FZJ80 and off the BMW GSA Moto.

  • WILL HARDISON

    CO-FOUNDER, TREASURER & BOARD DIRECTOR

    Will is a 19 year (and counting) US Army officer with a combat deployment to Afghanistan in 07-08. Will spent his deployment as an infantry platoon leader, covering ground all over the southern half of the country. He is currently working for USNORTHCOM in Colorado.

    Will has a wife and three boys who love camping in their tent and travel trailer.

  • PETER RAUCH

    BOARD DIRECTOR

    Peter is an outdoor industry veteran, born and raised in NE Portland, a father to two energetic girls and a husband to a wonderful person.  Peter's father and his two uncles served in Vietnam with the Air Force, both uncles went on to make their entire careers in the Air Force.  One of his uncles was an accomplished pilot, flying 185 combat missions in an F4 and over 1,200 hours in the U-2 spy plane on intelligence missions.  Two uncles on his Mother's side also served in the armed forces. 

    Peter started his career as a CPA with Deloitte and has worked in various leadership positions with Columbia Sportswear since 2008.  Peter loves being outdoors.  He and his family enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, mountain biking and a national park road trip as often as possible.
